When ServiceM8 may fit better

ServiceM8 may fit better if the business wants a mature mobile-first job app, a free starter plan, or SMS included on paid tiers [2][4]. It lists accounting links to QuickBooks Online, Xero and MYOB [7] and a phone add-on [5]. Apex is early access, with one business as its only tenant, so it is newer and narrower.

How Apex is designed differently

Apex plans are priced by number of users rather than by jobs per month. A customer's online request arrives pending, and the owner or owner's rules confirm it first. Texts and AI run on the owner's own provider account, or a prepaid wallet that is rolling out, so they are not bundled. CSV customer export is available, with export on cancel partly built.

This is a statement about Apex design, not a claim that ServiceM8 falls short. Apex Flow Scheduler is early access, its only tenant is Apex’s own first business, and many features are still rolling out.
