Is there free dispatch software for landscaping?
Short answerFree dispatch for landscaping is limited: ServiceM8 lists a free plan for one user with 30 jobs a month, which is solo dispatch at best. [1] A multi-crew landscaper needs a board with several crews, drive order and live changes, which usually sit on paid plans. [1]
The explanation
Dispatch means assigning work to people and telling them. With one user, you dispatch yourself. As soon as you add a foreman, you need another login and a way for the crew to see tomorrow's list. [1]
ServiceM8's paid plans list no cap on users, and its free plan is for one. [1] Compare that with per-user tools, where each foreman adds to the bill.
The test for crew dispatch is the rained-out day. Can you move every stop at once, notify customers and reassign? Also check whether crews can see the route on their phones. If you cannot do that on a free plan, count the hours it costs you. Ask a foreman to try it for a day. Test with a real rained-out day. Note which crews run late.
In lawn care
Landscaping crews work off route lists with several stops a day. A tool that shows drive time between stops helps decide who takes the late call. All lawn care scheduling questions.
