When Acuity Scheduling may fit better
Acuity may fit better when the work is appointment based, such as a studio, a consultant or a salon chair, and a client picks a slot and pays online. [1] It lists packages, memberships and a waitlist on Standard and above. [3] Its long list of payment options is a strength. [6] Apex is newer, narrower and early access.
How Apex is designed differently
Apex is designed around a service route rather than a studio calendar. A customer's online request arrives pending, the owner or the owner's rules confirm it, and only then is it a confirmed visit. Price tiers follow the number of users, texts and AI phone minutes are not included in any plan, and data export is designed to be available at any time.
This is a statement about Apex design, not a claim that Acuity Scheduling falls short. Apex Flow Scheduler is early access, its only tenant is Apex’s own first business, and many features are still rolling out.
What we could not verify
- The help center page for importing and exporting client lists returned a not found error, so the client export file format was not verified.
- Field service features such as routing, crew dispatch and job photos were not found on the pricing page.
- Prices change, so verify before buying on the vendor's own pricing page.
