How to use Acuity Scheduling?

Process: App reliability and support. Reviewed 2026-10-07.

Short answerAcuity's getting-started guide says to set your availability first, then connect calendars and other tools. [1] Follow that order, add one service, and book a test appointment yourself before you share the link with any customers. Fix anything odd you notice in that first test.

The explanation

Acuity's guide lists weekly hours, override hours for particular days, different hours for each day, and specific hours for each appointment type as the ways to set availability. [1] Start with regular weekly hours, since everything else adjusts around them.

The same guide covers syncing appointments with personal or business calendars, video conferencing, and integrations such as accounting and email marketing. [1] Connect the calendar you actually check, so conflicts show up where you already look.

Acuity's help center also has a section for getting started or switching, aimed at moving clients and appointments from another scheduling provider. [2] If you are migrating, read that before you enter anything by hand. Then test with a fake client, from booking to reminder, before you publish the link. Check that the time shown matches your own time zone.

What to watch for

  • Publishing the booking link before booking yourself once.
  • Forgetting to connect the calendar that holds your real commitments.

How Apex does it

In progress

Part of this is built. The rest is not. Status as of 2026-10-07; the badge shows the least-built feature involved.

Apex includes a guided setup wizard and a hosted online booking page, and works toward two-way Google or Outlook calendar sync. The wizard and booking page are built, and calendar sync is partly built.
