Do you have to pay for Acuity Scheduling?
Short answerYes. Acuity's FAQ says it does not offer free appointment scheduling, only a free trial [1]. Its pricing page lists a 7 day trial with no credit card, then paid plans: Starter at $16 per month billed annually or $20 monthly, Standard at $27 or $34, and Premium at $49 or $61 [1].
The explanation
The vendor's pricing page, read on 2026-10-07, shows three tiers. Starter has one calendar, Standard has up to six, and Premium has up to 36 [1]. Text message reminders appear on Standard and Premium, not on Starter [1].
The page says there are no set-up, cancellation or support fees, and that listed prices exclude taxes [1]. It also says you can cancel at any time [1]. Annual billing is cheaper per month than monthly, which is why each plan shows two figures [1].
For a crew business, count the calendars you need, because each tech or location may need its own. Confirm whether you need dispatch, route planning or invoicing, which an appointment tool may not cover. Check the current figures on the vendor's page before you decide, since prices change.
Steps
- Open the vendor's pricing page and pick monthly or annual.
- Count calendars for your staff and locations.
- Check which plan includes text reminders.
- Start the trial and test with real bookings.
What to watch for
- Comparing the annual price to a competitor's monthly price.
- Assuming an appointment tool covers routes and invoicing.
