How to use Square Appointments?

Process: App reliability and support. Reviewed 2026-10-07.

Short answerSquare's support center describes setting up Appointments by opening the Online Booking section in the dashboard, choosing Channels, building the booking site and publishing it. [1] Add your services and staff first, then book a test appointment before sharing the link.

The explanation

Per Square's help article, the path in the dashboard is Appointments, then Online Booking, then Channels. [1] You preview and edit the booking site, publish it, and copy the site URL from the published page. [1] Square also says the site can be linked from, or embedded in, a website built elsewhere. [1]

Square's separate article on scheduling says to set up bookable team members before you create appointments. [2] That order matters: a booking site with no staff or services shows customers nothing useful.

Once published, test it as a customer would. Pick a service, choose a time, and see what confirmation arrives. Then check how the booking appears on your side, so you know where to look each morning. Fix names, durations and buffers while the only customer is you.

What to watch for

  • Publishing before staff and services are complete.
  • Never booking a test appointment yourself.

How Apex does it

Built, rolling out

Built. A real server path exists; only setup steps remain before customers can use it. Status as of 2026-10-07; the badge shows the least-built feature involved.

Apex includes a hosted online booking page, a service menu with durations and prices, and a request mode in which the owner approves each request. Requests arrive pending until the owner confirms them.
