How to use Calendly?
Short answerCalendly's help center points new users to three early jobs: connect your calendar, set meeting limits and buffers, and add the scheduler to your website. [1] Do them in that order, then book yourself once as a customer to see what people will see.
The explanation
The help center's quick answer for calendar connection says to open calendar settings under Availability, add your calendar account, choose which calendars to check for conflicts, and pick where new bookings go. [1] Getting that right first matters, because every later setting depends on knowing when you are really busy.
Next come limits and buffers. The same help center describes meeting limits per day, week or month, and buffer time before and after meetings. [1] For a service business, think of buffers as travel and setup time, and limits as the number of visits one person can really do.
Last is the embed. The help center lists inline, pop-up text and pop-up widget options for adding the scheduler to a website. [1] After setting it up, book a test slot on your phone. Look at the confirmation and the calendar entry, then fix anything unclear before sharing the link.
What to watch for
- Connecting only one of several calendars you actually use.
- Leaving buffer time at zero for work that involves driving.
How Apex does it

Part of this is built. The rest is not. Status as of 2026-10-07; the badge shows the least-built feature involved.
Apex includes a hosted online booking page, and works toward buffer time between jobs and two-way Google or Outlook calendar sync. The booking page is built, while buffers and sync are partly built.
