Is there a free trial of contractor CRM software?
Short answerYes. Jobber's pricing page describes a 14-day trial with full Grow plan access and no card, and Housecall Pro's describes a 14-day trial of Max, also without a card [1][2]. A contractor should push live bids, a revision and a change order through the trial.
The explanation
A contractor's customer relationship runs for weeks. A lead calls, you walk the site, send a bid, revise it, wait, and finally get a signed job that may grow with change orders. A trial should follow one real lead through all of that, not just create a contact.
Check the follow-up behavior. Does the system remind you to chase a bid after a week of silence? Jobber's Connect plan lists quote and invoice follow-ups, and Housecall Pro's Max lists a sales proposal tool [1][2]. Verify these exist on the plan you will actually pay for.
Also test the handoff from bid to job. When a customer says yes, the quote should become a scheduled job without retyping. If you retype, the CRM adds work. Count the steps from accepted bid to a crew on the calendar.
Steps
- Enter three live bids at different stages.
- Send one bid and revise it once.
- Accept a bid and convert it to a scheduled job.
- Note which plan each feature belongs to.
What to watch for
- A bid-to-job handoff that needs retyping.
- Follow-up reminders found only on a higher plan.
In general contractor
Contractor deals move through site visit, bid, revision and change orders over weeks, so the stages and the follow-up nudges are what a CRM must prove. All general contractor scheduling questions.

Apex lists a lead pipeline with kanban stages and a one-tap convert from quote to job or invoice, each with its own status badge. A 14-day free trial needs no card, and pricing afterward is by user.
