Is google calendar or apple calendar better?
Short answerNeither is clearly better for a small service business. Pick the one your staff already use and keep a single master. Apple Calendar syncs through iCloud across Apple devices, while Google Calendar adds appointment schedules that can generate a booking page [1][2]. Crews with mixed phones should choose a calendar both platforms can read.
The explanation
The deciding factor is the phones. If every person has an iPhone, Apple's iCloud keeps calendars in step on all of them [1]. If the crew has a mix of Android and Apple phones, a calendar that works in a browser and on both is easier to manage.
The second factor is bookings. Google Calendar offers appointment schedules with a booking page, a form and reminders [2]. Apple Calendar is mainly a personal calendar app and does not offer a customer booking page in the sources reviewed here.
Either way, avoid running two masters. Choose one, subscribe the other to it, and give one person the job of creating events. If you need arrival windows, route order and customer history, add a scheduling system and publish its schedule to whichever calendar your staff prefer.
What to watch for
- Letting half the crew use one calendar and half the other.
- Judging calendars on looks and not on who can edit what.
How Apex does it
In progress
Part of this is built. The rest is not. Status as of 2026-10-07; the badge shows the least-built feature involved.
Apex has two-way calendar sync and an iCal subscribe feed, both in progress. The idea is that the schedule lives in one place and shows up in whichever calendar the crew prefers.
