How do I stop air duct cleaning customers from canceling at the last minute?
Short answerCollect a modest deposit when the visit is reserved, ask for a reply to a confirmation message the day before, and publish a notice cutoff. Duct cleaning blocks a truck and crew for several hours, so a cancellation at the door costs a whole slot. Those three controls shrink late cancels.
The explanation
Air duct cleaning is sold by quote and often compared. The most common late cancel is a customer who received a cheaper call back after you reserved the date. A deposit changes that comparison, because walking away now has a price.
The confirmation message is your second control. Send it the day before and ask the customer to reply with the word confirmed. A silent reply is a warning, which lets you call that evening and either save the visit or offer the slot to the next person on your list.
Finally, state a cutoff in the first message. Something like changes up to twenty-four hours ahead are free tells the customer exactly where the line is, and it gives you grounds to keep the deposit when someone cancels at the door.
In residential cleaning (maid service)
Duct work needs a truck with large equipment, a crew of two or more, and clear access to vents and the furnace area. A same-morning cancel strands the whole setup, so the deposit and the reply-to-confirm step matter more here than for a short visit. All residential cleaning (maid service) scheduling questions.
