Is QuickBooks worth it?

Process: Integrations and accounting. Reviewed 2026-10-07.

Short answerQuickBooks Online is worth it when you have enough invoices, bills and bank transactions that tracking them by hand costs more than $38 to $140 a month. [1] A one-person business with a handful of jobs can often run on a simpler tool. [1]

The explanation

The software earns its keep when your accountant asks for it. Many accountants prefer working in a file they can access, and the page notes accountant seats are included at no extra user slot. [1] That can cut their hours.

It also earns its keep when your bank and card transactions flow in automatically. The more transactions, the more time saved.

It does not earn its keep when you re-type every job. A common trap is paying for accounting software while still entering the same sale in a scheduler and then in the books. Test the connection between your scheduler and your books before you commit, using the free trial. [1] Ask the same question again next tax season. Run the numbers on paper before the trial ends so the choice is calm.

How Apex does it

Rolling out

The screen and the rules are built and tested. Saving real customer data is not connected yet. Status as of 2026-10-07; the badge shows the least-built feature involved.

Apex keeps jobs, invoices and payments together and exports reports to CSV. An accounting sync is being built, so double entry remains until it is ready. Plans are $59, $99 or $129.
