How to import events into Google Calendar without making a mess?
Short answerImport into a new, empty calendar first so you can delete the whole batch if it goes wrong. Google lets you choose which calendar receives the events, and defaults to your primary one. [1] Check dates, times and repeating customers before you trust the import.
The explanation
The import screen asks which calendar to add events to. Google's page notes the default is your primary calendar. [1] Choosing a freshly created calendar costs you thirty seconds and gives you a clean way to undo: delete that calendar and start again.
After the import, check a sample. Look at a normal job, an all-day entry and a repeating customer. Google warns that repeat events from a CSV might appear as separate one-time events. [1] Also check time zones, since a file made on another computer can shift times by hours.
Only once the sample looks right should you merge the work into your daily view. Keep the source file safe, and write down what you changed in the spreadsheet, so a second import is not a new guess.
Steps
- Create a new, empty calendar named for the import and the date.
- Import the file into that calendar, not your primary one.
- Check a normal job, an all-day entry and a repeating customer.
- Look at the time zone on two or three events.
- If everything matches, keep the calendar visible; if not, delete it and fix the file.
How Apex does it

Part of this is built. The rest is not. Status as of 2026-10-07; the badge shows the least-built feature involved.
Apex works toward an iCal subscribe feed and time blocks or personal events on the schedule. Both are built as screens or partly built, so check the status badge.
