Is QuickBooks bookkeeping worth it?
Short answerPaying for QuickBooks Online is worth it when its cost, from $38 to $340 a month, is lower than the value of the hours and errors it removes for you or your bookkeeper. [1] I did not review any bookkeeping service offered with it, so judge that separately. [1]
The explanation
Count three things for a month: hours you spend on books, mistakes that lose money such as missed invoices, and what an accountant charges to clean up a messy file. If the software cuts those, the plan pays for itself.
Use the trial before deciding. The page lists a 30-day free trial and a promotional rate for the first months. [1] A month of real invoices tells you more than a feature list.
If you are not sure, start with the lowest plan that fits your user count and let your accountant weigh in. A clean file at tax time is usually worth more than a few dollars a month saved on the subscription. Ask your accountant first. Revisit the question when your sales double, since volume changes the answer.
How Apex does it
Rolling out
The screen and the rules are built and tested. Saving real customer data is not connected yet. Status as of 2026-10-07; the badge shows the least-built feature involved.
Apex turns finished visits into invoices and keeps the schedule and payments in one place, which feeds cleaner records. It does not provide bookkeeping, and the accounting sync is being built.
