My flooring techs drive all over town every day, how do I stop wasting gas?
Short answerBatch flooring measure appointments by zone on dedicated half days, and keep installers on one site for the full job. Installers should not be doing measures, and delivered material beats a morning pickup trip for every crew, every single working day of the week.
The explanation
Flooring crews waste gas when installers also run measures, quotes and supply pickups. Each role has a different rhythm, and mixing them splits the day. A measure takes under an hour, an install takes days.
Assign measures to a person or a half day, and group them by neighborhood. When the quote is accepted, order the material for delivery to the job or to your shop on a known date. Installers then start the job and stay.
Plan the install start from the material arrival date, not from the quote date. If the install has to wait, use the gap for a nearby small job, not a drive across town. Keep a short list of small repairs and transitions that can fill a day. That list turns an idle crew into a paid one without any extra driving.
In flooring installer
Material often needs to sit in the room before install, and furniture may need moving. Confirm both at the measure so the install day does not become a second visit. All flooring installer scheduling questions.

Part of this is built. The rest is not. Status as of 2026-10-07; the badge shows the least-built feature involved.
Apex works toward scheduling by zone, multi-day jobs and measurement takeoffs. Measurement takeoffs and multi-day jobs are built as screens, and none is connected to saved data yet.
