How to cancel a paid scheduling plan and keep a free one?
Short answerDecide between downgrading a paid scheduling plan and canceling by listing which features you used in the last month, what the lower plan removes, and whether your booking links and history survive. Downgrading keeps the account alive, while canceling may remove access to your data.
The explanation
Start with usage, not price. Which features did you actually use in the last thirty days: reminders, payments, multiple users, a custom domain, integrations? A lower plan may drop exactly the ones you rely on, so you end up paying in missed reminders what you saved in fees.
Then check what changes at the lower level. Do old appointments remain visible? Do booking links keep working? Are extra users removed, and do their calendars disappear? Read the vendor's plan comparison page and the downgrade terms, not just the marketing summary.
If the lower plan works, downgrade on the renewal date to avoid paying for unused time. If it does not, export your data and move to a tool that fits. Either way, write down the date and confirmation so a charge on the next statement can be disputed.
What to watch for
- Downgrading and losing reminders you rely on.
- Booking links that stop working at the lower level.
- Extra users being deactivated without notice.
