How do I cancel a Housecall Pro subscription?

Process: Switching and cancelling. Reviewed 2026-10-07.

Short answerHousecall Pro's pricing page says it does not require long-term contracts and describes cancelling as simple [1]. The sensible order is still the same for any field service software: confirm your billing period, export your customer data, then cancel and keep the confirmation. The vendor's help center holds the exact click path.

The explanation

The pricing page answers the contract question directly. It says there are no long-term contracts and points to its Help Center, or a phone number, for cancelling [1]. It also says plan downgrades take effect at the end of the current monthly or annual billing period [1]. That tells you the timing: changes land at period end, so cancel a few days before your renewal date.

The page also lists a 14 day free trial that needs no card, and says data stays safe if the trial lapses [1]. If you are cancelling a trial, that matters: nothing is deleted just because you stopped.

Whatever tool you leave, treat your customer list as your own asset. Download it first, as a spreadsheet, and check that phone numbers and addresses came through. Then cancel from the account or by contacting the vendor, and save the confirmation.

Steps

  1. Read the vendor's own help center article on cancelling so you follow the current path.
  2. Note your plan, billing cycle and renewal date from your billing page.
  3. Export your customer list, jobs and invoices to files you control.
  4. Cancel before the renewal date and save the written confirmation.

What to watch for

  • Cancelling on the renewal date itself. Plan changes apply at period end, so give yourself a margin [1].
  • Leaving add-ons running separately from the main plan.
