My air duct cleaning software is too complicated, is there something simpler?

Process: Software pricing and choosing. Trade: Residential cleaning (maid service). Reviewed 2026-10-07.

Short answerAir duct cleaning software feels complicated when it was built for businesses with parts, contracts and multi-day projects. Your work is a request, a quote based on vent count or system size, one visit, and an invoice. Pick a tool that does those four steps cleanly and turn everything else off.

The explanation

Most air duct jobs are single visits with a clear scope. A homeowner asks for a price, you quote by number of vents or systems, a crew shows up, and the invoice goes out. If your software asks for work orders, inventory or phases, it is built for a different trade.

Take an hour and write your actual steps on paper. Then compare each step with what the software forces you to fill in. Fields you never use, such as equipment serial numbers or project stages, can usually be hidden. If they cannot, that is a sign to look elsewhere.

Test any replacement by running a full week of your real jobs through it. Count the taps it takes to book a visit and send an invoice. If a new hire cannot learn the daily screens in an afternoon, the tool is too heavy for a small crew.

In residential cleaning (maid service)

Duct cleaning is often priced by vent count or number of systems, then done in one visit with an upsell such as dryer vent cleaning. Quotes and add-ons matter more than routes or recurring plans. All residential cleaning (maid service) scheduling questions.

Rolling out

The screen and the rules are built and tested. Saving real customer data is not connected yet. Status as of 2026-10-07; the badge shows the least-built feature involved.

Apex has a guided setup wizard, an estimate builder and invoicing from a completed job. The wizard is built, while quotes and invoicing screens are rolling out, so check each against your own steps before relying on them.
