What app is better than Jobber?
Short answerAn app is better for you only if your crew finishes the day faster in it. Jobber's help center treats its phone app as its own topic. [1] Compare apps by running the same real job in each, on a crew member's phone, with the same timer.
The explanation
The phone is where trades software succeeds or fails. Office features matter less if a tech cannot find the job address, add a note or take a photo in under a minute. Make a list of what your crew does on every job and time each task on each candidate.
Test where you really work. Try the app in a basement, on a rural road and on a slow connection. Find out what happens when the signal drops: does the app keep your work and send it later, or does it lose it?
Ask the crew, not just the owner. The person who has to use the app eight hours a day will find the problems fast. Also check how the app installs and updates, since a tool that needs an app store account for every new hire adds friction. Keep a trial short and decide on evidence.
What to watch for
- Choosing from a demo done in the office.
- Ignoring offline behavior until the first bad signal day.
How Apex does it
In progress
Part of this is built. The rest is not. Status as of 2026-10-07; the badge shows the least-built feature involved.
Apex installs to the phone home screen as a web app with a QR code, and works toward offline mode. The install is built, offline mode is partly built, and there is no native iOS or Android app.

- OB13Install as app (PWA) with QR(Built)
