I hate my exterminator software, what else is there?
Short answerIn pest control, treatment and product-use records are the first thing to export, because your state may require you to keep them for a set period. Check your own state's rules, save the records outside the old vendor, then test recurring plans and routes in the new tool.
The explanation
Pest control keeps more compliance-related records than most trades: what was applied, where, how much and by whom. Rules on how long you must keep them vary by state, so check with your state's regulator or licensing office. Do not let a cancelled subscription decide how long your records last.
Ask the old vendor for a full export of treatment logs, product names and quantities. Save it as both spreadsheet and PDF, and store a copy in your own storage. Do this before you touch anything else.
Then test the business side. Load a few recurring customers, confirm the plan interval and route placement work, and run one initial treatment and one follow-up visit end to end. Keep the old account until you have confirmed the records match.
What to watch for
- Cancelling before exporting treatment logs.
- Assuming the new tool's log fields match your state's requirements.
In pest control
Regulated record keeping makes this switch riskier than most. Ask your licensing office what fields an inspector expects, then check that the new tool captures each one. All pest control scheduling questions.
How Apex does it

Part of this is built. The rest is not. Status as of 2026-10-07; the badge shows the least-built feature involved.
Apex works toward chemical and material usage logs, pesticide records and a CSV customer export. The logs are built as screens, the export is partly built, and none is connected to saved data yet. Check your own state's rules.
