I hate my dog grooming software, what else is there?
Short answerA grooming switch has to carry pets as well as owners. Export owner records, pet names, breeds, coat notes and vaccination dates, then confirm the new tool keeps repeat-appointment cycles. Run both for a few weeks before closing the old account.
The explanation
Groomers keep records no other trade needs: breed, weight, coat type, temperament, vaccination dates and past style notes. If a replacement stores only an owner and a phone number, you rebuild this by memory and mistakes follow.
Ask your current vendor how pet data exports. If it comes out as a spreadsheet with one row per pet, check that owners and pets are linked. If it does not export at all, record the details for active clients yourself, starting with the pets seen in the last few months.
Recurring cycles matter just as much. Most clients return on a pattern, and the new tool must hold that rebook interval. Test by booking three regular clients and confirming reminders will go out at the right time once a messaging channel is connected.
