How much is it to use QuickBooks?
Short answerA small service business will usually pay between $38 and $140 a month to use QuickBooks Online, depending on whether it needs one user, three or five. [1] A 30-day free trial is offered, and bill payment by ACH has its own per-transaction fee. [1]
The explanation
Most one-truck businesses fit Simple Start at $38. [1] Add an office person and you need Essentials at $85, and a team with a bookkeeper and a manager looks at Plus at $140. [1]
On top of the plan, think about bank feeds, payroll and card processing, which may be separate products with separate fees. I did not read their prices, so check the vendor's own pages. The bill-pay line I did read lists 50 cents per standard ACH transaction over monthly allotments. [1]
The lowest-effort path is to start low with the trial, keep your chart of accounts simple, and move up only when a missing feature costs you time. Ask your accountant which plan they want to receive files from. Prices were read on 2026-10-07. Ask whether your payment processor charges a separate monthly fee.
How Apex does it

Apex takes card payments through a payment processor at that processor's own rate, with no Apex margin, and an accounting sync is being built. Plans are $59, $99 or $129 by user.
