How to price a junk removal job?
Short answerPrice a junk removal job by estimating how much of the truck it fills, then adding labor and carry time, disposal and recycling fees, fuel and your margin. Set a minimum load charge and list items that add a fee to dispose of, such as mattresses, appliances or anything heavy.
The explanation
Volume is the common unit because it matches your truck. Estimate the job as a fraction of a full load and price each fraction, using your own cost per load as the base. Look at photos beforehand to see stairs, long carries and heavy items.
Disposal is a real cost and it varies by what you haul. Dump fees depend on weight or item type, and some items need special handling. Keep a short list of extra-charge items so the customer knows before the crew arrives.
Add labor for loading and carrying, fuel and truck wear, and your margin. A minimum charge covers the trip for a small pickup. If you donate or recycle, say so, but do not promise it for every item. Keep dump slips so you can price the next similar load with confidence.
In junk removal
Junk removal is often same-day and scheduled around the customer's move or cleanout. Arrival windows and a text when the crew is on the way reduce no-shows. All junk removal scheduling questions.

Part of this is built. The rest is not. Status as of 2026-10-07; the badge shows the least-built feature involved.
Apex offers arrival windows, an on-the-way text with an ETA and photo upload on the booking form, some of which are still in progress. The ETA text needs a connected texting account first.
