Is there free dog grooming software for PC?
Short answerMost current grooming scheduling tools run in a web browser, so a PC needs no install. Setmore advertises a free plan and Square Appointments lists a Free tier at $0 per location, with texting and extras on paid levels [1][2]. A groomer should check pet records and reminder limits before moving clients.
The explanation
The PC part is rarely the issue. A browser-based tool works on Windows or Mac and on a phone at the same time, which beats a desktop program that only lives on the shop computer. If your shop uses a front-desk PC, a web tool still fits.
The grooming-specific questions are about records. A groomer needs the pet's name, breed, coat, weight, vaccine dates and behavior notes on the appointment itself. General calendar tools store notes, but fixed pet fields usually require a custom field or a trade pack.
Reminders decide the no-show rate. Setmore's page places SMS reminders on its paid tier from $5 per user per month [1]. Square Appointments lists a Free tier with no staff limit and a processing rate that changes with the plan [2]. Test whether reminders reach clients before you rely on the free plan.
What to watch for
- Free plans that skip text reminders, where no-shows usually start.
- Pet details trapped in a single notes box.
In dog groomer
Grooming appointments are short, back to back and tied to one pet, so a missed reminder wastes a two-hour table slot and vaccine records must stay visible. All dog groomer scheduling questions.

Apex runs in a browser and installs to a phone home screen as a web app. Custom fields on a customer or job and appointment reminders are listed with their own status badges. Texts need a connected provider account first.
