Is there free dog grooming software for a multi-groomer shop?
Short answerA shop with several groomers needs one calendar per groomer, shared client notes and a way to pay each groomer correctly. Square Appointments lists staff calendars with no employee limit on a Free tier at $0 per location [1]. Setmore lists a free plan, with paid pricing per user [2].
The explanation
Multi-groomer shops have a scheduling puzzle. Each groomer has her own hours and specialties, a bather and a groomer may work on the same dog, and the table count limits how many dogs fit at once. A calendar with only people on it ignores the tables.
Pay is the second puzzle. Many shops pay commission by service, so the software should total each groomer's services over a pay period. A free calendar usually has no reporting for that, so the owner builds a weekly spreadsheet by hand.
Cost depends on seats. Square Appointments does not cap staff calendars [1], while Setmore bills per user on its paid tier [2]. A five-groomer shop on a per-user plan pays five times, so compare with a plan that does not count each groomer as a paid seat.
What to watch for
- Calendars for people but none for tables or stations.
- Commission totals rebuilt in a spreadsheet each week.
In dog groomer
Grooming shops have a fixed number of tables and several groomers with different skills, so capacity is both people and equipment. All dog groomer scheduling questions.
