How to change business hours for online scheduling?
Short answerChange business hours for online scheduling by updating the weekly hours, then the staff or crew hours that sit inside them, then holiday closures, and finally the hours shown on your website and listings. Pending requests outside the new hours need a manual answer so customers are not left waiting.
The explanation
There are usually three levels. Business hours say when the company takes work. Staff or crew hours say when each person works within that. Closures cover holidays and one time days off. If any of the three disagree, the narrowest one wins, which can confuse owners who changed only one.
After updating, review anything already in the pipeline. Requests that arrived for times now outside your hours may still sit pending, and confirmed visits stay on the calendar. Reply to those customers with a new option rather than letting them discover the change on the day.
Last, update every place that shows your hours: your site, map listing, social profiles and phone greeting. Mismatched hours cause missed visits and bad reviews that have nothing to do with the work.
What to watch for
- Changing business hours but not crew hours.
- Leaving old hours on your map listing.
- Pending requests that nobody answers.
