How to change the location of a scheduled visit?

Process: Booking and scheduling. Reviewed 2026-10-07.

Short answerTo change the location of a scheduled visit, check that the new address is inside your service area, update the job address, re-confirm the time and price with the customer, and tell the crew. A new address changes drive time, so the route and arrival window may also need to move.

The explanation

Start with the service area. A new address may fall outside your zone, change a travel charge or alter the tax rate. Check it before saying yes, and tell the customer if the price changes.

Then update the job and everything linked to it. The address on the visit, the route order, the technician's directions and any reminder message must match. If the customer has multiple properties, make sure the visit is attached to the right one rather than typing over the old address. Check the tax rate too, since a different city can change it.

Finally, re-confirm. Send the customer the new address, the arrival window and the price in writing, and ask for a yes. A short confirmation prevents a crew driving to the wrong house, a mistake which wastes time and trust.

What to watch for

  • Typing over a customer's old property address.
  • Forgetting to re-check the service area.
  • Reminders still showing the old address.

How Apex does it

Rolling out

The screen and the rules are built and tested. Saving real customer data is not connected yet. Status as of 2026-10-07; the badge shows the least-built feature involved.

Apex is designed to hold multiple properties per customer, check the service area by zip, city or radius and optimize the route. The service area check and route tool are built; multiple properties are rolling out.
