Why is booking online good?
Short answerOnline booking is good because customers can ask for a visit at night or between jobs, details arrive complete, and the owner stops playing phone tag. It also gives a record of every request. It works best when the owner still confirms or rules decide which requests are accepted.
The explanation
Most calls for a service happen when the owner is busy. A booking page works at midnight. The customer picks a service, enters an address and a preferred time, and the request is waiting in the morning. Fewer calls go unanswered.
It also improves information. A form can require the address, phone, access notes and a short description, so crews arrive with what they need. Photo upload and intake questions help scope a job before the visit.
The caution is trust. Showing every open slot and accepting instantly can create impossible days if drive time or service area is ignored. Many owners use request mode: the request arrives pending, and the owner confirms it. Customers still get a written confirmation and a link to change or cancel.
What to watch for
- Instant confirmation with no service area check.
- Form fields so long that customers quit.
- No confirmation message after the request.
How Apex does it
Built, rolling out
Built. A real server path exists; only setup steps remain before customers can use it. Status as of 2026-10-07; the badge shows the least-built feature involved.
Apex is designed to hold a customer request as pending until the owner or the owner's rules confirm it, with a link for the customer to reschedule or cancel. The booking page and links are built; messages need a connected provider.
