How do you price pressure washing jobs?
Short answerPressure washers price by square foot, by the hour or by package. Per square foot is easy to quote and fits flat surfaces, per hour fits unusual or dirty jobs, and packages fit repeat customers. Whichever you use, check it against your actual hours and keep a minimum.
The explanation
Per square foot works when the surface is predictable. You measure, multiply and quote in a minute. The weakness is that dirt, stains and access change the time while the area stays the same. Cover that with a condition note on the quote.
Per hour is honest about time but customers dislike open-ended totals. Use it for odd surfaces and give an estimate with a cap or a call-before-going-over rule.
Packages bundle a driveway, walkway and patio at a single price, which makes it simple for the customer to say yes. Build the package from your tested rates, then see what you earn per labor hour on three real jobs. If one pricing method keeps losing, change that one. Keep a note of the surface and the stain age on each job.
