What features does field service CRM have?

Process: Lead capture. Reviewed 2026-10-07.

Short answerA field service CRM should store customers with multiple properties and contacts, a full history of visits, quotes and payments, private notes, lead stages and sources, and follow up tasks. Its job is connecting what you know about a customer to the next action on the schedule.

The explanation

The record is the base. One customer may have two properties and separate billing and onsite contacts, so the CRM must handle that without duplicate entries. Notes, photos and past invoices should sit on the same page, so anyone answering the phone sees the history.

The pipeline is the second part. New inquiries move from lead to quote to approved to scheduled, with a source recorded for each. Follow up tasks, such as call back after a quote, prevent leads from fading.

Segments and tags are the third. Tagging customers by plan, property type or neighborhood lets you send a message to a specific group, such as everyone due for service. The connection to scheduling matters most: an approved quote should become a job without retyping.

What to watch for

  • A CRM that cannot hold two properties for one customer.
  • Leads that carry no recorded source.
  • No export of your customer list.
