Why are my electrician customers always asking when I am arriving?

Process: Reminders and texting. Trade: Electrician. Reviewed 2026-10-07.

Short answerElectrician customers ask about arrival because power may be off and they are waiting. Give a confirmed window, send a day-before reminder and text with a short estimate when the tech leaves. Emergency calls need a clear callback time rather than silence.

The explanation

A customer with a dead circuit or flickering panel is anxious and cannot do much until the electrician comes. A wide window with no update sends them to the phone every hour.

A good reminder for electrician names the confirmed day, the arrival window and a reminder to keep the panel accessible and to note which circuits are affected. Send it the day before so the customer can plan around it instead of guessing.

The second message goes out on the day. An on-the-way text with the electrician name and an estimate gives the customer time to clear the area around the panel. Keep it to two short sentences and give a way to reply or call if plans change. Send it from the same number every time so customers recognize it.

Steps

  1. Confirm the day and an honest arrival window for each electrician job when the visit is accepted.
  2. Send a reminder the day before that lists a reminder to keep the panel accessible and to note which circuits are affected.
  3. Text the customer when the crew leaves the previous stop, with a plain minutes estimate.
  4. If the crew will be more than fifteen minutes behind, send a short message with a new estimate before the customer asks.

What to watch for

  • A window that is wider than the customer can wait.
  • Reminders sent so early that people forget them.

Electrical calls mix planned work with emergencies. A no-power call can push scheduled customers back, which is why they check often on arrival time. All electrician scheduling questions.

How Apex does it

Built, rolling out

Built. A real server path exists; only setup steps remain before customers can use it. Status as of 2026-10-07; the badge shows the least-built feature involved.

Apex sets an arrival window on each visit and can send a day-before reminder and an on-the-way text with an ETA. Texting needs the owner's own provider account and carrier registration to be connected first, so those messages stay off until then.
