Why are my concrete customers always asking when I am arriving?

Process: Reminders and texting. Trade: Concrete contractor. Reviewed 2026-10-07.

Short answerConcrete customers keep asking because pour day depends on weather, forms and a truck schedule, and nobody explains the sequence. Share the stage plan, confirm the pour day a few days ahead, and text when the crew and the truck are actually moving. People ask less when they see the steps.

The explanation

A concrete job runs in stages: layout, forms, rebar, pour and finish. The customer sees nothing for a week and then a crew shows up at seven in the morning, so they ask constantly when anything will happen.

A good reminder for concrete names the confirmed day, the arrival window and the stage the job is in, what the crew will do that day and what the customer must keep clear. Send it the day before so the customer can plan around it instead of guessing.

The second message goes out on the day. Text the customer when the mixer truck is dispatched, because that is the moment the pour becomes real and the driveway must be clear. Keep it to two short sentences and give a way to reply or call if plans change. Send it from the same number every time so customers recognize it.

Steps

  1. Confirm the day and an honest arrival window for each concrete job when the visit is accepted.
  2. Send a reminder the day before that lists the stage the job is in, what the crew will do that day and what the customer must keep clear.
  3. Text the customer when the crew leaves the previous stop, with a plain minutes estimate.
  4. If the crew will be more than fifteen minutes behind, send a short message with a new estimate before the customer asks.

What to watch for

  • A window that is wider than the customer can wait.
  • Reminders sent so early that people forget them.

In concrete contractor

Concrete work depends on weather, curing and a ready-mix truck that cannot wait. Customers ask about arrival because the day can move for reasons outside the crew. All concrete contractor scheduling questions.

How Apex does it

Built, rolling out

Built. A real server path exists; only setup steps remain before customers can use it. Status as of 2026-10-07; the badge shows the least-built feature involved.

Apex sets an arrival window on each visit and can send a day-before reminder and an on-the-way text with an ETA. Texting needs the owner's own provider account and carrier registration to be connected first, so those messages stay off until then.
