How much does a tint job cost?
Short answerA tint job costs the film, the installer's time, any removal of old tint and the shop's margin, so the price depends on the number and shape of windows, the film grade and the condition of the glass. I give no market rate, because local prices differ; measure, price the film, and add time.
The explanation
Glass area and shape drive both film use and time. A flat side window is quick; a curved rear window with a defroster grid takes longer and risks waste. Count every piece of glass and note which are curved.
Film grade matters to the price and to the customer. Higher grades cost more per foot and often carry longer warranties from the maker. State the warranty in plain words, who honors it, and what voids it.
Removal of old film is a separate task that can take as long as the install. Quote it as its own line. Add a minimum charge so a single small window still covers travel and setup. For mobile work, add drive time and note that weather or dust can delay a job.
