How to keep clients coming back?
Short answerKeep clients coming back with a rebooking cadence: a reminder timed to how long the work lasts, a short review request right after the job, and a one-tap way to rebook. Customers rarely leave because they were unhappy. They usually just forget, so you have to ask at the right moment.
The explanation
Every service has a natural interval. Gutters might be every spring and fall, a groom every six weeks, a cleaning every two weeks. Look up your own interval and set a reminder for the date the customer would want to book again.
The message should be short and make rebooking trivial: a link to the booking page or a reply that says yes. Include the last service and the last price so the customer does not have to remember. A reminder that takes thirty seconds to act on works far better than a long newsletter.
Add a review request immediately after a good visit, while the memory is fresh. Then stop. Do not message the same customer weekly. One reminder at the interval and one follow-up two weeks later respects their inbox.
Steps
- Write down the natural repeat interval for each service you sell.
- Schedule a rebooking reminder for that date after each job.
- Make the message short, with a booking link and the last service.
- Send one review request after a good visit, then leave the customer alone.
What to watch for
- Blasting every customer the same promotion regardless of when they last booked.
- Asking for a review after a job that went badly without fixing it first.
How Apex does it
In progress
Part of this is built. The rest is not. Status as of 2026-10-07; the badge shows the least-built feature involved.
Apex has a rebooking reminder for lapsed customers, win-back automation, and a review request after each job. The reminder and win-back pieces are still in progress, and text delivery depends on the owner connecting a provider account.
