Owner approval: what it means
DefinitionOwner approval is a rule that a customer's online request does not become a confirmed visit until the owner, or a manager, reviews and accepts it. It trades a little speed for control over which jobs enter the calendar and when.
How it works in a service business
Approval makes sense for businesses where a bad fit is costly: large jobs, tight routes, unusual services, or customers outside the usual area. The owner sees the address, the service and the day's load before saying yes. The tradeoff is delay, since customers who expect instant answers may drift away if approval takes hours. A common mistake is making every request wait for approval, including ones that are obviously fine. Some owners set automatic rules for safe cases, such as a returning customer on a regular route, and keep approval for the rest. Whatever the rule, set a response target and make sure someone checks pending items each day, including weekends if you accept them.
Example
A new customer requests a large landscape cleanup. The owner checks the address, sees a free Friday on the north route, and approves it. A returning mowing customer is confirmed by a rule.
