How to switch from PestPac in an afternoon, with undo

Facts about PestPac were read from its own pages (see the comparison). Verify before you act. Reviewed 2026-10-07.

The planA small pest control company with a short route list may manage an afternoon for the customer move, but treatment history, chemical logs and recurring service schedules deserve a longer overlap. Apex competitor import is rolling out, and the badges below show how far each import feature has come.

Before you start

  • Keep the old account open and paid until Apex has run a full service cycle.
  • Export and save treatment history and chemical records, since they may matter for your own state rules.
  • List every recurring service with its interval, price and technician.
  • Note which integrations you use, such as accounting.
  • Pause automated customer notices on the old side before cutover.

The steps

  1. Ask the vendor how to exportNo export steps were found on the page we read. Contact the vendor or its help center to ask what customer, service and treatment data can be exported, and in what format. Do not assume the file layout until you have opened it.
    • LD15Customer import from CSV/other software(In progress)
  2. Inspect and tidy the fileCheck names, phones, addresses and service locations. Many pest customers have more than one property, so make sure each location is its own row before import.
    • LD15Customer import from CSV/other software(In progress)
    • LD02Multiple properties / service locations per customer(Rolling out)
  3. Import and compare side by sideLoad customers into Apex and compare a sample with the old system. Competitor import is built and tested but not yet connected to saving real data, so verify by eye and expect to fix gaps.
    • OB02Import from competitor with side-by-side check(Rolling out)
    • OB04Import from Jobber / HCP / Workiz / ServiceTitan exports(Rolling out)
  4. Rebuild recurring servicesSet up quarterly, monthly or seasonal service plans for each customer and compare the first generated visits against the old schedule before relying on them.
    • RC01Recurring service plans (weekly/monthly)(Rolling out)
    • SC10Recurring jobs auto-generated(In progress)
    • IP04Pest control pack (chem log, treatments)(Rolling out)
  5. Test a request end to endSend a test request. It should arrive pending, you confirm it, and the visit appears on the route. Try the reschedule link to confirm that path too.
    • BK11Booking requires owner approval (request mode)(Built)
    • BK24Reschedule / cancel link for customer(Built, rolling out)
  6. Run both for a full service cycleKeep the old account as the record for treatments while new work flows through Apex. Compare totals at the end. Switch protection is in demo state, so your own check is the safety net.
    • OB14Switch protection (never lose data, ledger)(Rolling out)
  7. Cut overPoint your booking link to Apex, turn off old customer notices and tell customers about the change in one message. Check that notices go out once.
    • CM03Appointment reminders (SMS/email)(Built, rolling out)
    • BK02Embeddable booking widget for website(Built, rolling out)
  8. Keep the backupSave the final old export, including treatment records, in two places. Export your Apex customer list on a regular schedule so a current copy stays with you.
    • LD16Customer export (CSV) at any time(In progress)

Apex status for the import and switch tools is shown beside each step. Status as of 2026-10-07.

Undo plan

In progress

To undo, keep the old account active until the new one has run a full service cycle, then point your booking link back and re-enable notices. Apex customer export is designed to be available any time and export on cancel is partly built. No automatic rollback is promised, so treat saved exports and treatment records as the real undo.

  • OB14Switch protection (never lose data, ledger)(Rolling out)
  • AD10Data export on cancel(In progress)
  • LD16Customer export (CSV) at any time(In progress)

Switching questions

Can Apex hold my chemical and treatment records?

Apex has chemical usage logs and a pest control pack, both in demo state. Keep your old records in a safe export until you have tested the new ones, and check your own state rules for what you must keep.

Is Apex meant for large pest control companies?

Apex is early access with one business as its only tenant. A company with hundreds of technicians should test it carefully on a small group first, since multi-location and some route tools are in demo state.

How do I find out what this vendor costs?

The page we read shows no prices and points to sales contact. Ask the vendor for a written quote, including term length and any fee to export your data.
