How to switch from Jobber in an afternoon, with undo
The planFor a small business with a modest client list, moving off Jobber can fit in an afternoon. [5] [9] A long history of jobs and invoices takes longer. Importing from Jobber exports into Apex is a demo so far, so plan to check every record by hand. [9]
Before you start
- Export your client list while you are still signed in as an admin.
- Keep your Jobber account open and paid until the end of this plan. [5]
- Write down every recurring job, its day and its price.
- List the tools connected to your account, such as QuickBooks Online or Zapier. [8]
- Pause automated reminder texts so customers do not hear from two systems.
The steps
- Export from Jobber [9]In Jobber, the help center says an admin opens the Clients tab, picks More Actions, then Export Clients, and chooses CSV or vCard. [9] The file arrives by email, with up to 1,500 rows per CSV. [9]
- LD16Customer export (CSV) at any time(In progress)
- Check the fileOpen the CSV in a spreadsheet. Look for blank phone numbers, duplicate households and property addresses split across columns. Fix what you can now, because errors are cheaper to fix before import than after.
- LD11Duplicate customer detection and merge(Rolling out)
- Import into Apex and compareLoad the file into Apex and use the side-by-side check against the original rows. This import path is a demo that is not connected to saving real data yet, so expect to key some records by hand.
- OB02Import from competitor with side-by-side check(Rolling out)
- OB04Import from Jobber / HCP / Workiz / ServiceTitan exports(Rolling out)
- LD15Customer import from CSV/other software(In progress)
- Re-create recurring schedulesRebuild each recurring job from your notes, with day, price and arrival window. Recurring jobs are partly built, so check the first few generated visits against your notes before trusting the rest.
- RC01Recurring service plans (weekly/monthly)(Rolling out)
- SC10Recurring jobs auto-generated(In progress)
- Test a request end to endSubmit a test request through your booking page. It should arrive as pending. Confirm it yourself, then check that the visit appears on the calendar and the customer sees the right reschedule link.
- BK11Booking requires owner approval (request mode)(Built)
- BK24Reschedule / cancel link for customer(Built, rolling out)
- Run both for a full cycleKeep Jobber live for a full billing cycle. [5] Enter new work in Apex, and compare the two calendars each morning. Note every difference and fix the cause in Apex before moving on.
- OB14Switch protection (never lose data, ledger)(Rolling out)
- Cut overWhen the two calendars agree for a full cycle, point your website booking link at Apex and tell customers. Turn on texting only after your provider account and number registration are done.
- CM0210DLC / registration handled for you(Rolling out)
- BK02Embeddable booking widget for website(Built, rolling out)
- Keep the backupSave the Jobber export file in a folder you control and leave the old account in place until the plan period ends. [9] Cancelling is covered in Jobber's own terms and pricing page. [5] [5][10]
- AD10Data export on cancel(In progress)
Apex status for the import and switch tools is shown beside each step. Status as of 2026-10-07.
Undo plan
In progress
Reversing the switch is mostly a matter of not burning bridges. Keep Jobber open and paid until Apex has run a full cycle, since annual prepaid plans are non-refundable. [5] [5] Point your booking link back if needed. Apex switch protection is a demo, and data export on cancel is partly built, so do not count on an automatic rollback.
- OB14Switch protection (never lose data, ledger)(Rolling out)
- AD10Data export on cancel(In progress)
Switching questions
Can I export from Jobber without calling anyone [9]?
Jobber's help center describes the client list export as a self-serve step for admins, emailed as CSV or vCard. [9] [9] We did not verify exports for jobs, invoices or visit history, so check the help center for those.
How long does the move really take?
For a small client list, an afternoon is a fair target for the export, check and import. Recurring schedules and a full run of both systems take longer, and Apex import from Jobber files is a demo so far. [5]
