My barber techs drive all over town every day, how do I stop wasting gas?
Short answerCluster mobile barber clients by neighborhood and offer set days for each area. A single haircut across town pays less than the drive costs, so group days at one address, or a minimum number of cuts per stop, turn driving time into chair time.
The explanation
Mobile barbering has short visits and long drives. A haircut is quick, so if every client is in a different part of town, the day is mostly windshield time. The goal is to put several cuts in one place.
Offer neighborhood days. Tell clients which areas you serve on which days and book them into the matching day. Group sessions work well too: a household, an office, a care home or a team that books several cuts at once means one drive and many paid services.
Price the drive. Many mobile services add a travel fee for far addresses, or set a minimum for a stop. Whatever you choose, decide it before the call, so you are not negotiating after the customer has already picked a far day.
In barbershop
Barbers who travel usually serve homes, offices or care facilities. Facility days with many clients at one address are the most efficient stop type, since the drive is paid once for many cuts. All barbershop scheduling questions.
How Apex does it

Part of this is built. The rest is not. Status as of 2026-10-07; the badge shows the least-built feature involved.
Apex works toward scheduling by zone and includes a daily route optimization and a service area by zip, city or radius. Zone scheduling is partly built, and the owner approves requests before they become confirmed visits.
