How do I let barber customers book themselves without calling me?
Short answerShow exact time slots by barber, list each cut with its duration, and let the client choose both. Clients reserve a haircut in under a minute, and you keep a buffer of open chairs for walk-ins. This replaces the calls asking whether you have anything today.
The explanation
A barbershop calendar is different from a field service calendar. Slots are short, exact and tied to a person, so the page should show times like 2:30, not windows. Each barber should have their own column, and each service should carry its own duration so a cut plus beard trim takes the right amount of time.
Leave space for walk-ins. A shop that fills every slot online turns away the walk-in business that pays the rent on slow days. Block a share of each barber's day, or open only the next few days for online reservations, so some chairs stay free.
Keep the form short. Name, phone, and the service are enough. The longer the form, the more people give up and call, which defeats the point.
Steps
- Create each service with its real duration, such as cut, cut and beard, and kids cut.
- Give each barber a column of exact time slots.
- Block a share of each day for walk-ins.
- Keep the form to name, phone and service.
In barbershop
Barbers sell thirty minute slots tied to a particular person, with walk-ins mixed in. Exact times, a barber choice and a protected walk-in block fit that rhythm better than long arrival windows. All barbershop scheduling questions.
