Fitness and recreation: scheduling for 2 trades
The trades in this group share a pattern of visits, bookings and paperwork, but each one schedules differently. Open a trade for its own questions and its list of what owners dislike in an old scheduler.
Across these 2 trades the usual visit shapes are exact slots, windows, group class. Seasonality runs january. Customers are consumer. 0 of the 2 carry a licensing or regulatory note in our trade research, which you should confirm with your own licensing body.
Each trade page below opens with how scheduling really works in that line of work, answers 10 to 15 trade-specific questions, lists what owners dislike in an old scheduler with a label for how well each item is sourced, and ends with an honest note on where Apex is not a fit yet.
- Personal trainerA personal trainer sells time in two shapes: exact one-hour sessions at a gym or studio, and arrival windows for in-home visits. Clients buy sessions in packs of five, ten or twenty and use them over weeks, so the schedule has to track credits as well as slots. Demand peaks sharply in January, with a smaller bump in spring, then tails off in summer. Clients are consumers who cancel often and reschedule by text. A busy trainer is on the floor all day, so the booking has to run itself.
- Yoga studioA yoga studio sells seats in scheduled classes. The timetable repeats weekly, each class has a teacher, a room and a capacity, and students book a spot. Memberships and class packs are the main revenue. January brings a surge of new students, and a second bump comes after summer. The tools that matter are the timetable, waitlists, credits and reminders, because a half-empty class and a turned-away student are the two losses.
