Industries / Roofing
Squares by pitch from the satellite, and a rain day that moves four crews at once.
Works today
Book inspections, send estimates, schedule install days, move jobs when weather hits.
Apex turns roof dimensions and pitch into squares and a good-better-best proposal, schedules the estimate visit by photos and storm damage, and holds the install for permit, material and weather.
Who it is for: Residential roofing contractors working retail replacements, repairs and storm and insurance jobs with their own crews or subcontractors.
What generic schedulers get wrong for roofing
Squares come from pitch
Roof area, pitch factor and waste make a square count. The same footprint on a 12-pitch roof is far more material than on a 4-pitch.
It is a pipeline
Lead, inspection, estimate, contract, permit, material order, install, final inspection, payment: each a stage with its own owner.
Insurance is half the business after a storm
Claim number, adjuster meeting, supplements and depreciation recovery need a record the crew and the office share.
Weather cascades
One rain day shifts crews, the dumpster, the delivery and the customer. Generic tools reschedule one job at a time.
Add-on pricing is the common complaint
Reviewers of one roofing platform say it charges for many add-ons and that customization costs extra.

How roofing runs in Apex: the key settings
Starter settings for this trade. You change any of them. Nothing here is a promise about your numbers.
How jobs get booked

Stops in a day
Around 4 estimate visits a day; one tear-off per crew per day.
Routing
Dynamic cluster for estimate visits.
Who says yes
Owner confirms always; a quote-only request is never auto-confirmed.
How you price
Per square, good-better-best, a supplement line for insurance work, deposit at approval, progress and final on completion.
Repeat customers
Optional annual inspection.
Follow-up calls
Estimate follow-up at day 2 and day 5, then a call; day-30 leak check after install.
Review requests
Review request after the final inspection passes and the invoice is paid.

The tools in roofing, and where we can honestly do better
Tools our research found in use for roofing: AccuLynx, JobNimbus, Roofr, Leap, Jobber. Listing a tool is not a claim about it.
AccuLynx
Capterra and G2 reviewers say it charges for many add-ons and that customization costs extra.
Review-site summary: Capterra, AccuLynx reviewsWhat Apex does about it: Plan prices are public, and the core calculators are not sold as add-ons.
JobNimbus
Capterra reviewers report recurring glitches, an unreliable mobile app and email problems.
Review-site summary: Capterra, JobNimbus reviewsWhat Apex does about it: The crew app is designed offline-first. It is in build.
When another tool may be the better choice: AccuLynx has aerial measurement, supplier ordering and insurance workflows built, and JobNimbus is popular for boards and automations. If you need those this month, evaluate them. Apex is newer and those items are in build.
What it costs for roofing
Apex lists three public plans, priced by users: Solo $59 per month for 1 user, Crew $99 for 2 to 5 users, Business $129 for 6 users plus $10 for each extra user. No plan includes any texts, AI phone minutes or AI usage. For this trade we would start you on Business. A roofing company with an office, estimators and crews usually has six or more users, which fits Business.
Jobber lists Core at $29 to $49, Connect at $99 to $139 and Grow at $149 to $199 or more per month. Housecall Pro lists Basic at $59, Essentials at $149 and Max at $299 per month billed annually, or $79, $189 and $329 billed monthly. These are public figures as read on 2026-10-06, verify before buying. Seat counts and included features differ between vendors, and we have not verified every one, so compare your own crew size on the pricing page before you decide. Texts and AI run on your own provider account or a prepaid wallet, and card processing is at the processor's own rate.
