Industries / Movers and junk removal

One scheduler for movers and junk removal.

Works with a few tweaks

Book exact slots, quote by load, route trucks and crews, send the arrival text.

Moving

Apex sizes a move from an inventory or a video survey, offers the right crew and truck for the volume, and keeps estimates honest as binding, non-binding or not-to-exceed.

Who it is for: Local and long-distance moving companies with trucks and crews, packing services, storage and labor-only jobs.

Works with a few tweaksMoving research rests on vendor pages and a few review summaries. Regulatory items such as interstate estimate rules must be verified against the source before use.

What generic schedulers get wrong for moving

The estimate type has legal weight

Non-binding, binding and not-to-exceed carry different obligations, and interstate moves have written-estimate rules to verify with the regulation.

A survey is part of the sale

An in-home or video survey produces an inventory and a cubic-foot total that drives the crew size and truck.

Trucks, drivers and movers are separate resources

A move needs a truck, a driver and a crew sized to the volume, with labor-only and packing crews alongside.

The paperwork is the product

Bill of lading, valuation coverage, claims and a US DOT number are part of the job record.

The tools in moving, and where we can honestly do better

Tools our research found in use for moving: SmartMoving, MoveitPro, Movegistics, Yembo, Jobber. Listing a tool is not a claim about it.

SmartMoving

Capterra reviewers report a bug in the customer move set-up form, report numbers that disappear, downtime and few integrations.

Review-site summary: Capterra, SmartMoving reviews

What Apex does about it: Plans are public and full data export comes with every plan. Integrations are a build priority and are not yet broad.

When another tool may be the better choice: SmartMoving is a purpose-built moving platform with an auto-pricing engine, digital inventory and crew confirmations, and a strong rating in the sources we read. If you want those today, it is the mature choice.

What it costs for moving

Apex lists three public plans, priced by users: Solo $59 per month for 1 user, Crew $99 for 2 to 5 users, Business $129 for 6 users plus $10 for each extra user. No plan includes any texts, AI phone minutes or AI usage. For this trade we would start you on Crew. Movers with several crews fit Crew up to five people and Business beyond that.

Housecall Pro lists Basic at $59, Essentials at $149 and Max at $299 per month billed annually, or $79, $189 and $329 billed monthly. Workiz does not publish plan prices, so we show none. These are public figures as read on 2026-10-06, verify before buying. Seat counts and included features differ between vendors, and we have not verified every one, so compare your own crew size on the pricing page before you decide. Texts and AI run on your own provider account or a prepaid wallet, and card processing is at the processor's own rate.

Moving: questions, answered first

Does Apex handle binding and non-binding estimates?
The estimate-type documents are in build. The photo-required request and the follow-ups are built.
Can it run a video survey?
Not yet. Scheduling the survey and chasing photos are built; the survey capture is in build.
Can I reserve trucks and crews separately?
Multi-resource dispatch is in build.
Does it do bills of lading?
Bills of lading and claims are in build.
Can customers choose their own move date?
They request a date and a start window, and the request stays pending until you confirm it, so a crew and truck are never promised by accident.

Junk removal and hauling

Apex gives a range from photos by truck fraction, lets your crew confirm the final price on site, and plans routes around dump runs and the hours the dump closes.

Who it is for: Junk removal and hauling companies with trucks and two-person crews, doing residential cleanouts, single items and commercial pickups.

Works with a few tweaksJunk removal rests on vendor listings and domain knowledge. Competitor comparison pages in the research are written by vendors, so we make few competitor statements.

What generic schedulers get wrong for junk removal

Pricing is by volume, with a final on-site price

Truck fraction or cubic yards, per-item surcharges for mattresses and appliances with refrigerant, and a final price once the crew sees the pile. A fixed quote misses all three.

The truck fills up

A day is a sequence of loads and dump runs. Capacity and the dump's closing time shape the route as much as distance.

Photos set the range

A customer who sends pictures gets a range upfront and a faster yes. The final price should reconcile with it.

Some items are refused

Hazardous items, certain electronics and refrigerant appliances need a rule at intake, not an argument at the door.

The tools in junk removal, and where we can honestly do better

Tools our research found in use for junk removal: Workiz, Jobber, Housecall Pro, CurbWaste, HaulOps, Box Tracker. Listing a tool is not a claim about it.

Workiz

The iOS listing shows 4.57 stars, while Google Play shows 2.69 across 426 ratings, as read 2026-10-06.

Public store listing: App Store listing

What Apex does about it: Our crew app is in build. The iOS-to-Android gap is a bar to clear, not a claim that ours is better yet.

Housecall Pro

Its official pricing page reserves route optimization, advanced proposals and recurring service, and API access for higher tiers.

Vendor's own page: Housecall Pro pricing page

What Apex does about it: Photo gating is part of the photo-quote flow in every plan, Solo included. Route density is a core engine feature.

When another tool may be the better choice: Workiz is named by several sources for junk removal with built-in call tracking. The pages ranking it first are written by vendors. Jobber is a common choice under three trucks. Apex is newer and the load and dump items are in build.
